Services IN THE SOUTH
Annoyingly for the horsey world, there are not many of these folks around! Plus, there are a lot of dodgy ones out there and I have unfortunately suffered a couple of those also. This is why recommendation is so important. Your saddle is a big investment when it comes to your horse, it should fit you both (horse & rider) properly. Whether you are looking to spend thousands on your perfect jump saddle or less on something second hand, please take a look below at my top three recommendations.
I think I first came across Woldingham Saddlers (Surrey) about 9 years ago when I bought my TB ex-racer.
They sell all second hand kit (tack and riding gear), and saddles as well as new including fitting if needed. Having tried unsuccessfully to get hold of anyone, I eventually found this little treasure. The saddlers will come out to you if you are local, and you can also take your horse to them. If however you are confident enough to know what saddle you need, they have a great stock of second hand and new saddles. The chap in there is lovely and super knowledgeable. The main point being, they will not rip you off. |
It is apparent that there is a massive lack of saddlers around the area of Surrey, fortunately most will travel. David Dyer offers a great service and their saddlers will come to you. You should anticipate booking in advance, but provided you don't need a saddle tomorrow, I advise getting in touch for a trusted service that my competitive eventer friends have recommended.

This lady does usually have a waiting list due to her brilliant saddler skills, however, I would say again, provided you don't need a saddle tomorrow and you can book in advance, Ellie is extremely professional and highly recommended. I have been referred to Ellie by at least 5 separate people on different occasions. She is reliable and experienced and although you need to book, she is worth the wait.
