WHAT IS ON OFFER?
In a bid to at least part satisfy my dream I am starting up a rehab service run through the spring and summer months from March until September where I offer my services to help you remedy your naughty horse's behavior.
why me ?
I have ridden since I was about 10 years old, my mum (bless her) started me off on a newly broken 3 year old that bolted, hated lorries and clippers but hunted like an absolute dream. From then on, I have loved a challenge. I enjoy working out why they do what they do and helping to fix the issue whilst working with the horse.
I have had ex-racers in the past, all of which have had the odd issue and all of which have gone on to happy homes, show jumping and the likes. My first ex-racer initially bucked like a maniac but, it turned out all he needed was a confident rider and lots of work and small feeds of low energy food - sounds easy enough but it isn't always the case - I would love to help others work out what their horse needs and see if we can get a happy partnership going once again.
Well I come across horses all the time where their owners simply are at a loss of what to do and how to ride them. From bucking broncos and rearers to bad stable manners, I would love to be able to help.
I have hunted all my life and backed and broken various ponies since I was a child. I live for the challenge. I have most recently backed and broken my now 4 year old who bucked like stink and frolicked like a gooden. Although he can put the occasional buck in now and then when he is fresh, for the most part he is an angel and his bucking is behind him. I am now teaching him to jump his first poles. I have had my mare Daisy since she was 4 and to be honest, she has always been an easy ride, I taught her to jump in a day and she hunted like a duck to water.
I like to think I can train a horse and know what they need mentally to keep them balanced and sane.
At the moment I am working with one 7 year old who was a history of bucking and bolting. We have since assessed that he is in fact lame and the vet is working with myself and the owner to try and get the horse sound, I am hopeful the behavior was caused by the pain rather than anything else.
I am also working with a 9 year old warmblood that rears, where the owner is at the point of having the horse put to sleep. This will be a long term project and I hope we can at least get the horse off of the dangerous list. I am hoping the horse will arrive on Saturday so that we can really get to work.

WHAT WILL WE DO?
First of all we will talk through your horse's problems in detail and get as much of a history in place as we can. I will then come out to see your horse and carry out an initial behavior assessment and see how we can best progress him or her. We will work together from there on a course of action that will gradually help you guys to get back together. I would re-iterate that there is never an easy fix and time is always key.
It is all too often owners are too scared to handle or ride their horse and my aim is to help you and your horse reconcile your differences and learn to work with them.
I recently went to see a part bred arab that was exceedingly naughty when ridden in the school, the owner wanted to put her to sleep. My aim was to give the horse a chance and I have since heard that the mare has gone back to her prior owner and is on best behavior. Not a deathly needle in sight, although I do also appreciate that very occasionally this may be your choice and, that is yours as an owner to make. I hope my guidance will allow a more informed choice to be made.
